The first haircut was $25 at some ritzy place. They gave me a certificate with his clippings. Now I go every 6 - 8 weeks and pay $13. I go to a local Kidz Kutz. DS hates it! Chat Icon

We've only gone once so far but that was 5 weeks ago and it's looking a bit long...

$8. no frills barbershop. He got a certificate.

But I wound up giving the barber a $7. tip.
Cutting my son's hair is like trying to cut hair on a fly... he was freaking and not sitting stillChat Icon Kudos to the barber!!

I might be switching to Supercuts though so I can do DD at the same time. They were $12. But then again, will they need a cut at the same time.

I don't think you'll be taking them that often for cuts together. Maybe for the holidays and their birthday. My dd is 3 and she's had 1 haircut, but I like her hair longer. My ds is almost 2 and about to get his 4th. Generally speaking boys go so much more often than girls.

Actually, come Septmeber, DH will be getting both fed, dressed and dropped off at daycare as I must leave for work by 6am. The weeks he's traveling, IL's will be taking them. I'm thinking I'm going to have to keep DD's hair short. I can't imagine DH trying to make pig-tails in the mad rush of the morningChat Icon Chat Icon Her hair would look like a bird's nestChat Icon

We would spend more on the tip than the cut! Chat Icon DS is a nightmare for getting a hair cut. So DH bought a buzzer and does it at home now.

good idea in the tub ! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

to answer the question:

my hubby also bought the buzzer kit on amazon for like $40 ? and cuts the big boys hair himself. he does an awesome job. he's a perfectionist.
he even gives them the little lines on the side to look cool. give them lollipops and all. Chat Icon

the little one, since his hair is long, has gone to the barber 2 or 3 times, each time a screaming nightmare and came out with a straggly cut each time, not the barbers fault Chat Icon
so hubby and I attempted it ourselves the other day, right in the highchair with the barber kit Chat Icon
it was a trim (so different from the buzz which is so easy!) we managed, it was fun, not perfect, but fun Chat Icon and there's no way the barber would get a great cut the way he flips out in there.

We go about 1x a month to Lemon Tree and its $10. He just got it nice & short so maybe this time we can make it last 2 months.

to anyone afraid to buzz it themselves.
you CANT cut the child with the buzzer, it has a plastic safety thing, the blade doesnt even touch their head.
its amazing Chat Icon
its colored coded by size/length of cut. so when you go to the barber next, ask him what # he's doing.
i think we do 3 all around, or sometimes 3 bottom 4 top if I want it longer on top. my BIL does my nephew super short, i think 2.

its SOO worth it ! has great reviews. I can find a link if anyone wants.

My son goes every other month and we pay $9. He goes to a regular barber that DH goes to.

Re: how often for your toddler son's hair cut and how much $$?

For Troy's 1st, we went to a "hair salon" and it was $25. His 2nd, we took him to the barber shop that DH goes to and it was $9. He went about 1 1/2 weeks ago and will go right again on Sat 5/17 (so he's all cleaned up for his party)
