DS is almost 22 months and will be getting the flu shot. He got the flu and H1N1 shots last year (around 10 or 11 months old) and had no reaction to them.

what are your reasons for getting it or not?
My reason is that Abby, when in day care (shes home with me while Im on maternity leave) contracts every virus known to man. She is out for days and she gets very run down. Its rather sad.
In addition, both DH and I take many personal days to stay home with her. On top of that we have to pray WE don't get sick and are forced to stay home to get well ourselves. It can and does become financial. It sounds cold, but its the truth. I refuse to send her into daycare sick.
Our reasons are the same. My DD seems to be in a healthy streak at the moment, but I also won't send her sick. And since DH and I both teach, we are also often around sick kids/young adults. He and I get the shot too.

both my children (almost 2 and almost 7) got the flu vaccine this past thursday. my son has a history with asthma and respitory infections, was almost hospitalized because of it last week, so i firmly believe in it.

DD is getting it at her 6 month appt in December. I got the flu last year and DS is in school now so I want to protect her.

Got it at his 6m checkup. I had no hesitation. ds never reacts to shots. Once we thought he was having a reaction, but it turned to be something else (ped confirmed)
I, on the hand, react to everything, when I take any drug I get the side effects more strongly than the intended effect. I take quarter and half doses of everything. I never get flu shot, and probably won't till I become elderly or immuno supressed. I have never had anything more than a bad cold.
imo all vaccines and drugs should be looked at case by case. What could be worse the reaction to it, or the illness? Keep in mind, the flu can be deadly to infants.
eta: flu vaccine isn't perfect, some years it doesn't protect against the most prevelent virus. Scientists have to basically guess which strains are going to be affecting people.

both have been getting the flushot since they were 6 months old. and will continue to get it.

DS is 3 and,he just got his a couple weeks ago. He also got his regular and H1N1 last year at 2 and he got his first flu shot when he was 1.
DD is 10 months and got her first half of the flu shot a couple weeks ago and will go back for the other half in a couple weeks.
Last year she was too young, but I got all flu shots when I was pregnant with her so that she could have some protection.
