How old was your DC when you switched to one nap?
What were the tell tale signs?

Taylor was 17 months old when she phased out of her second nap. She is in daycare and by that time she just refused to go down for the second one.

Re: How old was your DC when you switched to one nap?
she was around 12-13 months when she started one nap a few times a week.... she'd nap once a day for 2 or 3 days for the week, the rest of the week would be 2 naps.
Now at almost 15 months, it's one nap unless she's sick or something and it's usually 2-3 hours (or 3 1/2 on a GOOD day). I cannot seem to push it till after lunch....she naps from around 11 till 1/1:30 but will go longer sometimes.

When Aly first started taking one nap/day was she cranky in the afternoon? Did she go to bed earlier? Wake up any different time in the AM?

Hmmm....let me try to remember.... at first during those few weeks where it was back and forth between 1 and 2 naps, yes.....she would get a little fussy. So...when it was around the time she WOULD have taken that 2nd nap, we'd do quiet tv time. We'd go watch tv in my bed (so I could doze off from being tired) and she'd sit quietly and snuggle and watch tv.
Bedtime was usually around the same time.....6:30 we'd go upstairs and 7pm she was usually asleep. Sometimes she'd sleep a tad later in the AM but not usually.
My suggestion would be to go with the flow.....try just some quiet time during what should be her 2nd nap because sometimes all they need is to rest, but not sleep. It took a few weeks for us to adjust, but our day is as follows: wake up: 8-8:30am nap: about 2 1/2-3 hrs later (this was WAY off when she was sick) and lasts 2- 3 1/2 hrs (sometimes she wakes up too early, and 3 1/2 hrs is a RARITY) bedtime: around 7ish

Re: How old was your DC when you switched to one nap?
DD gave up her 2nd nap much to my dismay at 11mths...she now takes one nap a day for 1 1/2..which is not enough in my opinion considering she doesnt go to bed until 9pm and is awake at 7.00am AND wakes several times a night...she has the stamina of a horse!
I am going to try to reintroduce the second nap now that the weather is fine..I am going to take her out for a walk around 4.00pm and I hope she will sleep for 30 mins.
