how old/what was your dc 1st word?
just wondering how old most children are when they say there first word. and what was it?

OMG! My DD is 7 months and nowhere near saying either one. She babbles, screeches and laughs a lot. She says da-da-da-da and ma-ma-ma-ma too but doesn't say it in reference to DH or me.

I "think" at around 7 months she said ball. She loves playing with them. Now I know for a fact at 8 1/2 months she says Dada to DH and looks for him when I say where is Dada and she says "at" for cat. . Oh my mom also thinks she says Grandpa in Greek. Which would make sense since my dad practices with her ALL day.

DD said "Dada" to FH 4 days before she turned 6 months. On her 6 month mark she said "Mama" and 2 days after that she said "Cat" when my cat walked by her. She hasn't come up with anything new since, lol.

The first word with any association, is Banana. He said mama and dada, but it wasn't in reference to anything. It was just a sound. So he was about 17 months old...
