how on earth do you decorate a boys room??!!

I'M CLUELESS!!!!!!!!

the previous owners had a baby girl. the room that is now my son's was painted baby-yellow (better than pink, i know).

his room is relatively small. right now nothing matches.

i would like to give him a cool space, but everything i see is either too "baby-ish" or too "grown-up"

my son is 12 and loves video games. he's recently discovered the love for reading those japanese adventure series (they're like comic books).

any help will be appreciated.

Or a neutral color with a strip of red, and a couple of framed pictures of those comic books he likes- in black frames.

DS has a two-tone light and dark blue paint technique on the walls, so it looks nice for an infant, and will still look good for a teenager. We have removable wallpaper on the lower 3 feet of the room, and I can remove all of it in about 5 minutes when he's tired of it. We have temporary wall stickers from the Cars movie, again, they are really easy to remove. He has a few posters on the wall, which take a few minutes to change. I think posters will be the quickest, easiest, and cheapest way to make it "his" room.

What about doing three walls in one lighter color then an accent wall in a dark red, or blue, or gray and hang posters of his favorite games in frames. I have also seen rooms where three walls have paint and then one wall has a wall paper mural i.e. something like this:

You could see if you can find one that is in something he really loves.

Sounds like your son is into Anime and Manga. If you google the names, you will find a ton of websites to give you ideas of what this is. You could decorate his room in the colors that they use and find posters to hang. Definitely, not a little boy's room, but, not too mature for a boy your son's age.
