Agreed!
You'll need to go out for Dr. visit, I just wouldn't go to the Mall, Supermarket or Target (type places) right away. Also careful with many visitors, especially school age kids.

With my daughter - I think she was in Target at like 7 days old and the mall at like 2 weeks. But obviously in the car seat/stroller and avoiding contact with people - but that was June.
This baby is due in January, so I'll probably be more cautious.

My son was born in January. I only took him out for doctors appointments for the first 3 months. It was a freezing cold winter so I was happy to stay home with him.

I took my kids out pretty quickly. I'm now pregnant with #3 so I'm sure this baby will be out very soon too, I'll have to take my DD to school and activities etc

I took the baby out for walks sometimes, but never in the stores until the doc said ok. My PED was pretty insistent on the 8 weeks, so that's what I did.
