How soon after having your baby
would you say you'd be able to work out, like, go running or do some aerobic excercise?

Re: How soon after having your baby
I had a vaginal delivery and was back at work as a dance teacher in 3 weeks. Though they did caution me to take it easy so i wouldn't bring on an internal bleeding- but I didn't listen and I was fine. You have to do what you're comfortable with. The Dr. will tell you 6 weeks.

Re: How soon after having your baby
Usually the doctor says 6 weeks. I was still bleeing at five weeks and I could tell the more physical activity I did I noticed more blood.

Re: How soon after having your baby
My dr. told me 6 weeks, and I'm listening b/c I have had a pretty rough recovery from my c/s...
ETA: Like the PP, the more I do, the more I bleed. I have been taking the kids for a walk a couple times a week, and I bleed ALOT on those days, and the days I dont do anything, my bleeding is GONE

C-section mama here. I say about 6 weeks. Finding the time to work out however was much harder.

Re: How soon after having your baby
It's been amost 5 months and I still haven't worked out
I would say at about 7 weeks, I COULD have worked out.

Re: How soon after having your baby
I had a rough V delivery, so for me I would say about 6-8 weeks i was fine to exercise without any pain or bleeding.
I tried to exercise a couple times before that time, and I started bleeding heavy again, so i stopped.

Re: How soon after having your baby
Easy V delivery, I felt good enough at 6-7 weeks to work out.

Re: How soon after having your baby
I started working out after 2 weeks. I had a vaginal delivery though with no complications.

Re: How soon after having your baby
I didn't go back to my normal routine until after my 6 week checkup (had an episiotomy that took a while to recover from). I did some walking before 6 weeks, and I also did some weight training, but very light stuff. I didn't go back to doing anything heavy until after 6 weeks.

Re: How soon after having your baby
I had a c/s a attempted to do a slow jog on the treadmill and reopened my incision at 4 weeks. I wouldn't recommend doing anything before a good 6-8 weeks. But I also had a vaginal with my 1st DS and started exercising within 4 weeks without any problems.

Re: How soon after having your baby
I went back to exercising at around 3 months. Before that I had no time or energy to even think about working out.
