How the stars are losing weight - so fast...
What do you know/think about this:
I heard today that they are injecting a fertility medicine (perhaps Pregnel?) and it tricks the body into thinking it is pregnant - thereby burning more calories and taking away from fat reserves - and on top of this - the stars go on a restricted calorie diet. They do this in cycles - the first cycle is 3 weeks.
Anyone know anything about this?

I heard on the news last night something about injecting CO2 (carbon dioxide) into the fat cells. Is this the same as you are talking about....
I did hear that it would take a lot of injections over a long period of time to have any desirable effect.

I havent heard any of that yet, but it helps that they work out for hours a day with a trainer and have chefs! I would probably be skinny if I had those resources too.
Those injections sound scary though....

what i don't understand is doesn't BC trick your body into thinking that you are pg so you don't ovulate??? this is what I have been told. I also teach my students that this is how hormonal BC works.
If this is so why am I not super skinny??? I don't believe this is true.

I wouldn't mess with my body that way. I would hate to know the long term consquences. The body is delicate and you could really mess up your fertility, I would think.

No, BCP's suppress ovulation by continuosly giving the body Estrogen thoughout the month, tricking it into not releasing an egg. There is also Progestin in BCP's which thicken Cervical Mucus to slow down sperm and prevent the body from developing a healthy lining so a fertilized egg couldn't implant.
I would never do injections to make me thin....I've had enough of injections for a long while.

I agree - that sounds extremely scary!!! You would hope that they are smart enough not to do something like that. I always thought they had round the clock trainers and chefs.
