how to care/clean granite and wood floors?

I have never had either. Are there any do's and dont's????

i have wood floors and have been using a wood floor cleaner

I was told vinegar and water for granite and the wood floors but im not sure that its good

I saw granite cleaner at Bed bath and beyond


All i know is that i have never had wood floors before and the amount of dust, dust bunnies that accumulates is crazy

eta: i have very light granite counters, the color is called classic white and i can say it doesnt get that dirty, i heard the darker granite looks dirtier faster

Do not use any cleaner that has ammonia in it for granite. I use what is called Perfect Glass that they sell in BBB and Lowe's. It smells like Windex, but no ammonia and cleans it sparkling! Everyone uses something different for each but thats my preference as it was recommended to me by a friend and I'll never use anything else on it again.

If you have a steam mop, you can use that for cleaning hard wood floors as long as they are finished obviously. It's what I use. Or a swiffer, but I only use that for a quick clean.

As for the granite, our installer told us to use windex, but I prefer Granite Gold sold in BBB. I feel it leaves it streak free, and the fact that is has the name granite in the product name makes me feel "safer".

As for hardwood, I just use my Swiffer. But I feel like it needs a good cleaning. I have heard Bruce's hardwood cleaner is good, but can't seem to find it. I heard Murphy's can strip it, so I stay away from it.

Granite tops - I use windex WITH vinegar

Wood floors - water with white vinegar (vacuum first and dry well)

Used both for years with success.
