How to Convince My Boss That Part Time Work Is Preferrable to Full Time

I need some solid reasons why dropping my hours/week from 40 to 24 would be beneficial to the company. Anyone have any good marketing strategies besides the obvious financial savings?

That's going to be tough unless you can prove that your work can be done in less time but that can back fire on you.

You don't have to reply, but what are your reasons for going part time? How will all your work get done in 24 hours? Will they need another part time person? Will other people have to pick up the slack? Are there hidden savings to you working part time (would you no longer be eligible for medical insurance or 401k benefits, no vacation or sick time)? Is telecommuting a possiblilty?
