How to keep cats out of flower beds?

I was digging in our flower bed yesterday and I found tons of varying degrees of petrified cat poop! The neighborhood cats have obviously been using it forever! Chat Icon

Anyone know any good tricks to keep them out of there?

You could try Cat Repellant

I also heard Moth Balls work well, as well as citrus oil (lemon or orange) or even the rinds scattered every few feet.

Cats hate the smell of Marigolds also.

I found this on the clubmom chatboard:
Sprinkle cayenne pepper all along the edges of the flower box or around the area, then add drops of peppermint oil as well. Cats don't like to smell the oil, and the pepper is an irritant to them just as it can be for humans. This should keep them away from the area for good, but repeat as necessary until cat visits are no longer a problem. Once a week should be enough. Enjoy your flowers!

We put mothballs in our beds, but the cat still came back and they look pretty stupid too. I have heard that hot pepper flakes work, so that's our next course of action.

Mothballs would be cruel as I'm pretty sure they're poisonous!!
