How to not get down on yourself.
I have been on a diet/exercise program for 6 weeks. I have ALOT of weight to lose and I know it is not going to come off tomorrow. I have lost 16.5 pounds in the last 6 weeks. However in the last 4 I only lost 3.5. It is so frustrating and of course I became super upset. Any tips on how not to get upset?

when I was in the process of losing weight I didn't let myself get down bc I didn't obsess over the number.
I would focus on other things that made me happy (other than food lol) I got into a great workout routine so I'd focus more on workout goals over weightloss goals. before I knew it I shed a lot of weight and it didn't seem like work.
this was about 10 years ago though. I was single and childless so I really had time to just focus on me.
but I think focusing on nutrition and exercise goals instead of just the number on the scale will help keep you from getting down if the number is not decreasing as quickly as you'd like. if you keep up with your diet and exercise, the number will go down!!

It takes time and I could not agree more with the PP who mentioned focusing on other goals like nutrition or fitness milestones (running a 5k, biking x miles, doing t25, etc) that you can have more control over. And that kind of progress is much easier to see and quantify.
Whatever you do, make sure any goals you set are small and reachable in short periods of time or else it gets too overwhelming.
It's not easy but it's so worth it!
