How to really clean your dishes without a dishwasher
I've never liked the fact of being in an apt without a dishwasher, but with a baby on the way, now I'm real nervous. Since I'm a newbie to all of this, is there a way to really clean baby's things well? TIA!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: How to really clean your dishes without a dishwasher
We do have a dishwasher but I like to wash most things by hand, it takes so long to fill the DW that I'd rather just do it! (plus when I did use it I found it left a cloudy film on the bottles ew)
So I would use REALLY hot soapy water to clean DS things. I would clean bottle, etc right away (or fill them with water til I could get to it) so that they didn't get crusty and harder to clean.
HTH!
ETS: After buying several cheaper bottle brushes that fell apart, I invested in this Munchkin Deluxe Bottle Brush, I still have it! and I loved the suction to let it stand and dry easily.

Re: How to really clean your dishes without a dishwasher
My mom never had a dishwasher when we were kids.... Just wash everything by hand in hot soapy water and sterilize the bottle and it's parts for a period of time.
I had a dishwasher, but found it to be a PITA to clean the bottles since I didn't use it daily. It wasn't that serious to run it just for 3 or 4 bottles. I just used a brush to make sure the bottles were clean and then used my microwave sterilizer. I sterilized until my son was 4 or 5 months, then just used hot soapy water.

I got this from BRU for $15. After you wash the bottles, you put them in here with a little water for about 6-8 min.

Hot water, use a bottle brush and just make sure you rinse well.
I also rinse out the bottles if I am not going to wash them right away.
The bottle brushes have nipple brushes on the bottom too.
Every week or so I also sterilize everything. I got a sterilizer to put in the microwave. But half the time I just boil a big pot of water on the stove, then throw all the baby's stuff in there (after it's washed of course) and let it sit in that for 10 mins. Take it out with tongs!

Yes that's what I have too, if I don't boil the water on the stove. It seems to work well!

I love that - where did you find it? Does it have a brush for the nipple?

They sell it at BJ's.. and the bottom pink part detaches to be a nipple cleaner. It's the best bottle cleaner I've used as well.

I got it at Target. Yes the suction part unscrews to a smaller brush to use for nipples.
