How to you store your shoes?
I feel like what I am currently doing is just really not working at all: save for a few pairs I wear every day, everything is in boxes up in my closet and every time I have to find something I have to go up and start pulling shoe boxes down.
I need a better setup. I have seen a lot of shoe storage systems on Amazon and BB&B btu I am not sure I am sold on any of them.
I like the idea of this, for example: shoe storage, but this clearly works only for flats or very low heel shoes.
I also can't have anything over the door because all our closets have sliding doors, so you can't put anything over it.
I am at a loss... Any suggestions? What do you guys do that works for you?

How to you store your shoes?
I have a shelf in my closet that holds 12 pairs of shoes, but that's not enough. I also have some in boxes, some flats in a hanging shoe rack, flip flops in a little basket. Its NOT a good system. I did see this really interesting ottoman on Pinterest that would be great for storing some shoes... let me see if I can find the link.

Re: How to you store your shoes?
Would either of these work for your boots? Boots are my problme, the other shoes have much easier solutions

For boot storage, I actually just take a regular pants hanger and I hang one set of boots on the front clip and the 2nd set on the back clip... they sort of even eachother out weight wise, and I hang them on one of the "low" bars in my closet.

This doesn't leave marks?

It hasnt, but I think a Little square of fabric or felt between the boot & hanger woudl do the trick. I'll take a pic when I get home!

How to you store your shoes?
I bought a bunch of those clear shoe boxes from Container Store. Those only work for flat shoes. For my heels and wedges I bought a few Men's shoe boxes from same store. They are stacked on the floor of my closet. For boots I just leave them in the box they came in, they're also stacked in the back of my closet.

Re: How to you store your shoes?
All of mine are in the clear shoe boxes you get for like a $1 at target. Boots are in big flat clear ones. My winter-fall-dressier are at the top of my closet, all my current are at the bottom.

Re: How to you store your shoes?
Here is my super innovative boot storage technique
The only issue is that you have to get your hands on some of these classic 80s pants hangers, b/c they're the only ones that are wide enough to hold 2 pairs of boots and strong enough to handle a heavy pair of leather boots. I think this one is from TSS!! Image Attachment(s):

If you're concerned about the clamp marking the boot, just put a little piece of fabric over the boot, but it really only touches the inside of the boot and its never left a mark on mine - these boots have been on this hanger since 2007.

Re: How to you store your shoes?
I use cut up pool noodles for my boots and place them along the bottom of the closet. They stand straight up that way.
I also have a shoe rack built in to the closet.
