How was your first period after you went off the pill? NEW QUESTION ADDED!!

Today was the first official day that I"m off the pill and actively TTC. Just curious how everyone's first period was when they first went off the pill?

ETA new question....... So like I said, I'm off the pill, however, I stopped in the middle of my pill pack instead of waiting to finish that pack. Is that going to mess up my cycle and throw off any O-charting I was doing?

I had been taking BCP since November 2004. I came off mid March 2009. Mine was completely normal aside from the fact that it came after 22 days. My cycles stayed at 22-23 days for about three months and then it got a little wonky.

In July I had AF here for 2 weeks straight followed by a 30 day cycle. Now I'm toward the end of the 2 WW for September but not sure exactly when to expect AF.

Very late. I had a 51 day cycle. I've had 3 cycles now--they're getting better, but still not "normal." Don't stress if yours are a little wacky too. It's totally normal.

Just wanted to say this will be me in a few weeks....... Totally don't know what to expect!! but I have been on the pill for 10 years!!

I was on the pill for 10 years and I had about a 60 day cycle my first cycle off. Since then they have been from anywhere between 27-30 days.

I was regular the first month (30 days) and then my cycle length gradually increased (37, 48...). This lasted for about 3 months and I have been regular since May (average 31 days). I went off the pill at the end of 2008. I should also say that I get really bad cramps, which I did not experience on the pill. GL!!

Never had a cycle once coming off nuvaring.. Just got my cycle once I started Provera with my RE.. CD70's... But I am an exception - def not the rule.. good luck!

I came of the pill in Aug and got my bfp in Sept never had a chance to have one. Good luck to you.

i came off the pill in april 2009 after using different types of bc (patch, yaz and loestrin) since 2003....first two months were 28 days, july was 30 days, august cycle was 33 days....

august really hurt...i could have sworn it worked especially since i was a few days late but no yet....

i was on the pill for 12 years straight and coming off was not nearly as easy as i had hoped.

i didnt O or get a real AF from 5/1 until 9/3.
i did go to my doctor mid-July and she prescribed me provera so i did get a provera-AF (which is similar to BCP withdrawal bleeding), on 7/23. then i FINALLY O'ed for real, with several "false starts" around 8/23.

AF was fairly heavy and much crampier than on the pill.

i really highly recommend BBT temping. it is the only way to confirm ovulation, and if your body is crazy post-BCP like mine was, it really helps to at least know whether or not you have O'ed. i feel like i wasted 2 months of not knowing and a lot of BDing and PG tests because i had no idea that i wasnt Oing and actually had no shot of being PG. had i temped during that time i would have gone to the doctor a lot earlier.

i hope you regulate fast than i did !

Ugh. My fist cycle off BCP was 57 days. I was cramping and bloated for a lot of that time. Second cycle I used OPKs, got +OPK on CD 36, then started spotting until AF came on CD 46. Spoke to my doctor a few times and he said to expect wacky cycles after BCP (which I already knew, just needed to hear it again from him.) This is my 3rd cycle off and I'm using OPKs and temping to be certain that I'm ovluating. I'm PRAYING that my cycles start to regulate now.

My advice-just be patient. Some (very lucky) girls become regular right away after stopping BCP, others have to wait it out and have lots of patience.

Oh...wanted to add...oddly my AF off the pill hasn't been too bad. Lighter and less crampy. Although it does last a bit longer.

This will be me in 2 weeks as well! I'm set to finish my last pill pack on Sunday and then that's it! My periods before the pill used to be somewhat irregular (35 day cycles or so) so I'm not looking forward to dealing w/ that again. I'm going to miss knowing exactly when it's coming!! But- it's all for a good reason right?!

That's totally going to mess up your chart and cycle. You may even get AF early. I'd wait to next month to start charting.
