How will I know when DD wants to drop her 2nd nap?

DD is 13 months, and is still taking 2 naps a day: One from 10:30-12 and another that varies in time, usually beginning somewhere between 2:30 and 4 and lasting an hour.

It's been increasingly hard to get her to go down for that 2nd nap, even though she's rubbing her eyes and yawning. I KNOW that she's tired, but she doesn't seem to want to nap at that time anymore.

Should I try to push off her morning nap and see what happens? I feel like I finally just got a handle on her schedule!

We pushed Lorenzo's morning nap till after lunch and he still gives us about 2 hours.

he use to nap from 10:30 to 12:00 and the 2nd nap was 3:00 to 4:30


Now he naps from 1:00 to 3:00 3:30 sometimes.

My kids have virtually dropped that second nap. They just would not sleep if put down. So I moved up their morning nap to 11(from 10-10:15) and they sleep til 1 or 2. They go to bed at 6:45 and wake up anywhere between 8-9. They eat lunch late now but they still eat dinner so I don't care.

i think shes showing signs shes ready, DS was the same- taking a shorter PM nap, so I consolidated them to one nap after his lunch (also around 12-14 months-I dont remember exactly) and he just took a long afternoon nap...he's now 2.5 and he still does, he napped today for 3 hours
