How would my dentist show up as a connection on Linkedin??
I'm really really puzzled. No connections in common. I don't live near him, no facebook link, nothing.
I recently did a free trial with Linkedin for the premium membership and had to give them my credit card info. Think that has anything to do with it??
I'm mystified and a little pissed off, like my privacy has been invaded type thing. Thoughts?

When you filled out paperwork did you use the same email address that you use for LinkedIn? That's how I've been added by random people I believe.

its possible the dentists office puts all email addresses into their systems and connects to all their social media. So basically when you signed up using your email address, LinkedIn narrows your email address down to people you may know. It's how my DHs company added me on LinkedIn because DH has emailed me on his work email. All of these websites are basically legally phishing, it's nuts.

I almost signed up but did not like the fact I need to provide a cc for a free trail. I want to try the premium but now im worried. Should I change the email address I use??
I use my first and last name... what should I do

They want a cc because if you don't cancel, they will start billing you (they bank on you forgetting like I did).
In using your email - it just helps them find "people you may know". They pull from Facebook, email, etc... They also pull up people your contacts know that they think you may know too.
