How would you go about selling something valuable and delicate?
My MIL LOVED fine China. She has several vintage sets of Villeroy and Boch dinner sets that are boxed and in storage. They have been in storage since her death over 2 years ago. My DH and I do not have space for them nor do we want them, his brother doesn't want them and his sister says she'll take them if we rent a truck and bring them to her in Connecticut.
I pay the storage fee of 135 per month to store these items and frankly, i am getting annoyed.
My husband says that we should just sell the stuff, but how do you go about selling entire sets of fine china? E-bay? Craigslist? A dealer?
If anyone could help me with this, I would be much obliged.

what patterns??
you would even try to sell it replacements.com.
I would try CraigsList first with local pickup.
ETA: If by any slim chance, one of her patterns is "City Park", PLEASE let me know, this is my set and I would look into taking some of it off your hands

Antique dealer Auction Ebay
Have it appraised or do your research first.
I have some china I hate. I was going to sell it for $35. Then I found out on Ebay it was going for $10 for 1 tea cup. It's a signed limited edition made by a special artist. So now I can get $$ because I have a full set.
So... you never know!!!!

They are great. I needed a few pieces from my china set that was discontinued and I got everything there. It took time, but eventually someone sold them the pieces I needed.

Re: How would you go about selling something valuable and delicate?
I sold a set of china to replacements.com last year and was really happy with them.
I'd asked some dealers and most won't buy china anymore, it doesn't really sell since pretty much everyone gets a set when they get married.
Ebay you pretty much have to sell it piece by piece or in small lots (4 coffee cups) and if there isn't someone looking on ebay that week for that specific pattern you are SOL.

Thank you all so much! I never even heard of replacements.com. I don't know the names of the patterns, but they are from the 1970s. Very bold and eclectic...
Let me see if I can find a picture for you!
