Hoyt Farm birthday party info
I'm thinking about having my DS's 4th bday party there - has anyone been there for one or had a party there? I called and they said to call the Town for a permit. Do you book certain tables? What about a rain date? And how did you handle parking and food? Thanks!

Re: Hoyt Farm birthday party info
Logan's 1st was there!
we had a permit from the town, i think it was $75- up to 100 people with alcohol and we had the whole right side (by the playground). We had about 60 ppl.
*Our party was 12 noon and I was there at 9 to "pick my tables" - luckily for me, the sons of italy wanted to be further from the playground and I wanted to be right next to it.
There was 1 other party (on the left side) - a commack Sons of Italy party - so we had some good music from their DJ! I had an iHome with an iPod playlist ready to go, but I didn't even take it out.
We paid for parking for everyone that wasn't town of Smithtown. It ended up being 10 cars, so $70.
We catered 2 heros (1 italian, 1 chicken cutlet/mozz/red pepper), salads, pickles/olives and a fruit platter from Andersen's deli in KP, I made chicken nuggets at home (the egg-free dinosaur ones from BJs - we had an egg allergy guest) and reheated them on sterno @ the park. My mom, sister and I made sausage and peppers, penne a la vodka, kielbasa with sauerkraut, and cookies. I ordered a cake from a local cake lady and had bottled soda, water, beer, and my sister made a huge sangria cooler.
I bought 2 rolls of table cloth @ Bar Boy in Farmingdale and decorations/balloons @ that party store on 111 in Hauppauge (behind wendy's). I got goody bag things from from Star Track in farmingdale (they have all oriental trading stuff).
My budget was $1000 for permit, food, decorations, and goody bags for the kids and we came in under.
If you have fbook, i have pics here:

eta: the pavilion is covered, there are no rain dates. our party was 8/1/10 and it was gorrrgeous out. The kids had a great time with the sprinkler area. I brought a blow up pool and the kids that work there filled it for me from their hose and we put it in the shade. It was perfect for the babies!
