HR or other hiring managers: Spinoff to Duke DA withholding info
If you were interviewing someone and really liked them, and then googled their name and saw they were accused of something like these guys were, do you think it would change your impression of them? They were never convicted, all charges were dropped based on other evidence, but they had been accused.

tough call, I'd like to say no, it wouldn't influence me one way or another but I honestly can't say for sure because I'd always wonder if they did it.

ok- you work for one of the top investment banks in NYC
2 college grads apply for the job
they are equal on all grounds
except one is one of the Duke Lax players
who do you hire?

Honestly, I'd probably hire the other one. I'd be worried about negative PR, how other staff would react, etc. I know it's not fair, and I feel like a total creep for even thinking that way.

I don't think you are only one that will think that way
unless a Duke alum gives them a job- these boys are screwed- for something the DA knew they didn't do
I hope they sue the pants off of the DA, Duke and anyone else they can!
