HR peeps - Q about retro pay raises?

Say an employer was supposed to give you a review a month ago but only got around to it today. Is there something on the books that entitles you to retroactive raise pay back to the date the evaluation was supposed to take place? Like your anniversary date?

I can only find references on google to people asking the question in other states, not actually any answers.

Thanks for any responses, i would be grateful!!!

did you sign a contract or handbook or even a job offer that stated this??

I believe that they do not have to full fill a verbal agreement since its not in writting if you didn't sign anything

I don't think so. It's nice when they do, but I can't imagine there's a rule about it. It's not as though they even have to give you a raise, kwim?

IT happens at my job all the time, they are never on time with reviews.

We get our raises in February instead of Jenuary and they just retro it.

Typically it is retroed, but unless it's stated somewhere in writing, they do not have to make it retro.

Agreed, unless they gave you something in writing that states your new salary will be XYZ on SPECIFIC DATE. If they did that you mayhave some recourse.
