Re: HSG Monday
It's OK and perfectly normal to feel anxious and scared. My best advice is to take some alleve before the test and have someone go with you, if possible, for support! I'd like to say it gets easier but the anxiety seems to be a part of all this...sorry!

Re: HSG Monday
Def take some Motrin beforehand. I'm an idiot and bought children's chewable Motrin----they tasted like crap and I don't know how well they worked so I may have felt more cramping than others bc of it!
Bring someone with u to drive u home.
As silly as it sounds, bring a lollipop----the sugar in it helps and it actually was a distraction.
Every1 reacts diffently. Lots of people are able to go back to work afterwards. I took the day off as a precaution. I was super scared beforehand---but I had to think of it as a step forward. Good luck!

Re: HSG Monday
I had mine a couple of weeks ago. It honestly wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. For me, the actual procedure only took about 5 min.s, a very painful 5 min.s. It was hard for me because it was pain I wasn't used to cause I don't get cramps with AF so I was very uncomfotable. But I like to think I have a pretty high tolerance for pain so I was able to deal with it for 5 min.s. Afterward I was crampy and had back pain (which is what I get with AF) for about 3 hours. And I went back to work right after and had no asprine to take.
Good luck, try to relax on the table. I found once I relaxed my muscles a bit it was more bearable. Oh and take deep breathes!

Re: HSG Monday
I had mine on Friday. Its not a particularly pleasant procedure, but its really quick...I think it was less than 5 minutes. It hurt a bit during, but after it was over I was fine and was able to go back to work. I was told to take 2 advil 2 hrs before and then 2 advil 1 hr before, which seemed to help a lot.
Good luck

Re: HSG Monday
I totally did not find the HSG painful. It is uncomfortable, but not painful (at least for me).
