HSG Report
I asked my OB/GYN for a copy of my HSG results so that I can take them to my RE appt tomorrow. Turns out I have a low laying uterus projecting onto my symphysis pubis, and obstruction of both fallopian tubes, moderate lumbar scoliosis, and spina bifida at S1. If I never asked for this report, the only thing I would have known is that I have blocked tubes! *** I'm a ball of stress right now. My eye won't stop twitching.

I'm sorry! I'm don't have the twitching eye just sick to my stomach because I"m reading too much on the internet about FSH.
I hope you have a good appt with your RE tomorrow.

Donna, I'm doing the same thing. The Internet is a wonderful invention, but it's also enough to drive you mad! I'm so sorry you have to go through this.

What did the dr. say about the results? What is their prognosis> I didnt know they would check for spina bifida, etc. Did you know about that before? My cousin has that and was only diagnosed last year (she is 18) and leads a normal lifestyle...I dont know if that causes any problems with infertility though...
I'm so sorry! Try to relax!! You are going to a RE so try and calm down and take one day at a time. I know the RE will help you.

I only spoke with a doctor in my OB/GYN practice over the phone (mine was on vacation) and he said I had to go straight to IVF and he referred me to a RE. I inquired about procedures such as a laporoscopy and possible Fallopian Tube Recanalization but he seemed the think the risk of ectopic would be too high. He is not a specialist though. I am going to talk to the RE tomorrow about my options. I'm in information overload from the Internet, and I'm literally sick over it.
While the other things (scoliosis, low laying uterus, and spina bifida) may not contribute to my infertility per se, it would have still been nice to have learned about them. If the doctor was looking right at the short report, why not tell me?? I had no idea. I knew I had herniated disks in my back, but nothing like this. The form of spina bifida I have is relatively common and most likely will not cause any problems, but STILL ... HELLO!?!?

Susan, I am at a loss as to what to say...
That is just too much information to be thrown at you at once, and I would be feeling all that you are feeling and MORE
You are so strong and I hope you get some better, more concise answers at the RE tomorrow... I pray and wish for nothing but the best for you!!!!
ALl I can do is offer you support and hugs and hope that with the help of a good doctor, you will get through this!

I am sure your appointment tomorrow will relieve at least some of your anxieties.
It is annoying though that your docotr didnt mention the other results to you. Reading it yourself is a tough way to find out.
