Hug your little ones a bit tighter tonight
I was just in Walmart when it came over the loud speaker:
"CODE ADAM!!!! 4 year old girl wearing a black sweatsuit."
My heart sank.
It was announced continuously for over 5 minutes.
They also called her by name to please meet mommy up front. They kept calling.
Finally, about 10 minutes later we were told she was found. 
I can't imagine what that mother went through.

been there... dh and i went to macy's his brightidea we dont need strollers let them walk.. 19 months mind you... i went to go fight at the counter or something i didnt get.. he had both boys.. when i was done he came back to the counter with one boy.. i was like.. ummm wheres anthony.. he said i dont know i thought maybehe came back to you.. now im panicking screaming his name for what seemed like for ever ran around (not one person stopped to help other moms just looked at me) i am at this point threating my dh with divorce papers and castration if my son was found.... few min later anthony came around a pile of towels saying hi mama with the cutest smile! dh is still alive and no longer allowed to watch my children..
but yeah i almost died!!!

I heard one of these recently too and I was surprised at how many people just kept going about their business. Maybe some people don't know what it means but then they describe what they are wearing so it bugged me that so many people were not looking around for this child. He was luckily found as well.

I am glad she was found! That happened to me once in the Children's Place at the Mall. The mother was hysterical, I didn't even know what to do (I was right there with my kids). Her 8 year old DD wandered out of the store and down to the toy rides in the mall concourse. Security found her.

I always tell the security or employees to lock the doors immediately.
i did that twice and someone responded "Oh I never thought of that" both times. I learned it back in my retail days.
Thank God she was found.

I have seen this type of thing twice and it's scary. Once was in Macys and I remember hearing all the exit doors slam shut and then the code Adam alert and there is my mother yelling check the bedding dept that is where my son always went Sure enough she was right just like my brother this little boy had found a nice pillow to take a nap with. I remember the mother's yells and my Mom and I running towards bedding.
The other time was a car jacking and the 2 kids were still in the car. Almost 5 years later I can still VIVIDLY hear this mother's screams and I still well up with tears every single time. I will never in my life forget that and I hope that ******* is still in jail rotting!

 Scary.
I never knew there was a code for it-- Code Adam? I mean, if I heard it, I'm sure I would have figured it out, but I never knew all stores used a certain code.

I was in Target when they called a code. The little girl was found playing in a tent.
I was so impressed with how the Target employees handled it. There was not one employee standing still. They went through every aisle & made a bee line for anyone with a child. Scary especially considering the clothing a child was wearing could be easily covered with a stolen article of clothing in the child's section.
