Maybelline The Rocket Volum' Express

External Image

This mascara is all about the formula. The brush is pretty good, but you have to be super patient. This isn't a mascara you can throw on and leave the house. If I did that it would be clump city. I take my time, apply it slowly and smoothly, and use a spoolie brush to comb out any clumps.

I have had the absolute hardest time finding a mascara that emphasized my length but also gave me volume (my lashes are very thin). This is the first time I have actually loved my lashes after only ONE coat. I think more than that and they would look fake, I may try that on a night out.

Love this stuff!

Thanks, that's good to know. I'm sick of buying expensive mascaras and having issues with them (Lorac) so I'll give this one a try.

Yup! The Rocket and the Cover Girl Clump Crusher are all the rage right now and for good reason... they are great! I am using the waterproof version of the Rocket. Love it!

Yes this is amazing and I usually use only MAC, but I my DD purchased it for a sweet sixteen she was going to and it looked great on her. I purchased it the next morning.

If you have to apply and then comb through it isn't that a pain in the butt? My Loreal Voluminous is great and doesn't require the fuss.

I have tried that mascara and it doesn't have half the volume that the Maybelline Rocket does, IMO. I honestly don't mind the combing through because I tend to do that with all my mascaras, I am a perfectionist and hate Twiggy eyes Chat Icon

Re: Huge, huge mascara rave

I love Maybelline also. I have 3 different mascaras from them...BTW I don't know how many people know this but there is a way to apply mascara quickly that reduces clumping. After applying the mascara the normal way (holding the brush horizontally), turn the brush VERTICALLY and then brush the wand across your eyelashes in a quick swift motion. I've found the clumping is almost nonexistent this way.

Re: Huge, huge mascara rave

So I tried this this morning and need to stress a light touch because I applied it like I normally do and wound up with what a PP called twiggy eyes. Chat Icon Perfect description.

I did the next eye better and will keep using this. I've never had a spoolie brush but it looks like something I'd like to try.

On the fussing with them, I don't mind if the results are that much better bc I easily spend 80% of makeup application time on my eyes. I love when I get it right because I have hooded lids and had been overweight for so many years so having my eyes look as large and open as they do is important to me. Chat Icon

I got it last night and used it this morning. The first eye looked like a mess, I think I put it on too fast and had too much on the brush, when I did my other eye it came out better. I cant decide if I love it...right now I feel like I have tarantula eyelashes

If you like that you MUST try the Voluminous Extra volume Collagen. Ridiculously amazing.

Yes I will! thanks.

I bought the Rocket mascara..then used it, then returned it. Not sure if it's my non-existent lashes or what but it didn't have the same effect for me. Thanks for the rec though. Always happy to hear of something that works.

If you're on the lookout for good mascara try this:

They're Real By Benefit

It's a little pricy but I find it to be well worth it, the stuff works like freakin' magic!
