Human Resouce People....
I was wondering how the procedure works for new employees regarding drug tests. One of my friends just applied for a job and was given the job and a start date but still has to go get a drug test. If the test comes up positive will they call her and tell her that she doesn't get the job? She is scheduled to start next week and is scheduled to take a test tomorrow. How soon will she find out if she gets the job 100%?

We do drug screening here and I make the offer verbally and tell the person the offer is contingent upon the results. They come and pick up the offer letter where it says it in writing and then go get tested. I know usually within 48 hrs if they passed or not.

No if they have a negative result the offer is retracted.
