Humira?

Has anyone taken this for IF? My doctor gave me a script for this for my upcoming IVF cycle for my immune issues. First, I am having the HARDEST time having it approved by my insurance? You would think it was laced with GOLD. It was rejected by my primary and now pending with GHI. Has anyone had any experience with this and had luck getting approved? Also, i never heard of this drug before this, and now all i see in magazines is advertisments for it with 2 pages full of side effectsChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon How long did you take it, and did you have any side effects ?

Re: Humira?

I would love to know too. My doctor wants me to take this as well and Im not sure about it. He said you should take it 2 months before your IVF cycle because it needs time to work. You do 2 shots. I know he said I would need a Tb test before I do it. If any one has used it for fertility I would love to hear your experience with it. ThanksChat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Humira?

I take it. I have Crohns a diagnosed autoimmune disease but I also have infertility.

I got it approved just fine but again I have the autoimmune issue.

It's very expensive. Almost $1000 a dose. My insurance covers it with a $5 co-pay. If you call the actual company they will sign you up for co-pay assistance but that only helps if you are covered.

See if you can get it approved. It's a class B drug and pretty safe. I have no side effects.

Interesting...I heard of this for the very first time last week. A woman in a buddy group of mine was prescribed this as they did not think that the intralipids were enough. She said that she only has to take one or two doses.
