Hurrican Katrina Urban Legends??

I was watching Good Morning America this a.m. and they had this whole report about how all the horror stories that were coming out of the superdome were just simply made up. ?? local authorities have only been able to confirm that there was in fact one homicide, but the other deaths were not. some were from natural causes, and they said one was a suicide. as for the rapes and acts of violence, all just urban legends????? anyone else hear this???

I heard that this morning, but the one guy said it was harder to confirm rapes and stuff like that than homicides, where they have tangible evidence. I would believe rapes did occur, but who is going to check them out with a rape kit? There were no police around to even tell.

ohh...which reminds me...they also showed the former head of FEMA testifying at some hearing re: Katrina and FEMA's response...

at one point he said: "what did you want me to do, put on a cape like some super hero, and just pick up everyone and take them out of new orleans"....

the other guys response: "no. i wanted you to do your job and organize it all"

wish i could've seen the whole thing!!!
