Re: Husband Vent
I'm sorry. What a tough situation. It sounds like you need to sit down with DH and tell him it's not going to work (as in your budget, your bills, your goals, your marriage), unless he takes some responsibility.

Re: Husband Vent
Dh does stuff like this- not intentionally but since I do the bills... he really does know whats in there, and what I plan on using it for... so I really cant say anything...
My solution to this... I always tell him we are broke

Re: Husband Vent
I would be fuming mad. This is why DH and I keep a separate bill account and then a "play" money account.

Re: Husband Vent
My dh will do the same thing except now he does it and makes money off of ebay on the things he bought so it does go back in. I am the type to "freak" over this right away because I also do the bills. It is soooo much better if you can sit down calmly with him and explain the bills. My dh has gotten MUCH better over the years. I have been married almost 13 years so I know what you are going through!!

Re: Husband Vent
I'm so sorry. JT has no clue about our bills. Not how much they are. Not when they're due. No knowledge of how much is in our bank account. While he doesn't usually spend frivolously, it still annoys me that no matter how hard I try to include him in the monetary aspect of our relationship, he just has no interest. I don't mind being the one who pays all the bills, but I do mind being the only one who worries about them. I would be really upset if I were you, too. I wish I had some advice. When JT DOES spend useless money, he knows he better work a shitload of overtime to make up for it.
