I actually got a head shake the other day..

Granted - Zachary hates shopping, Hailey loves it - Zachary screams pretty much the entire time we are in a store, while Hailey is a social butterfly and is saying hello to everyone.

We were on line at a checkout - Zachary was screaming - the woman in front of me, was facing sideways, Zachary let out an ear piercing scream - she shivered - literaly - and turned her back toward me -then she started shaking her head at the woman in front of her - as if to say shut that kid up already!

I just want to say - it was embarrassing enough for me to be "that mom" with the screaming kid, I think I was more mad at the woman in front of me.

I felt totally shunned by her




To boot - I don't know if she realized this but we work in the same building.

I am sorry this happened to you -- but I think we've all been that woman in front of you at one time or another in our lives.

You can't let it get to you, there is nothing to do.

I was in Target yesterday and a 7 year old girl (+/-) was having a total tantrum right by the doors. I was so embarassed for the mom and said a quick prayer that that may never be me....but who knows!

it is only a matter of time before this happens to me be it with my baby now or with a future baby/child sorry you felt this way

You know what...was she a child once too? These people need to realize that the world doesn't revolve around them...

It's too bad that so many other people think that "they could do it better!" That head shake thing is enough to drive me crazy!!!!

Sorry that happened to you...shame on the head shaker!

ITA!! I hate when people shake there heads, they were a kid once too! I talk out loud to them too! lol

I wouldn't want someone to shake there head to us if we were in a store together!!

There really is no need for the head shake. It's not like you asked DS to scream like that.

people hat me at a store I bring my 3 kids my 1 nephew and meet up with SIl and her 4 boys and she is pregnant we get the head shake daily

I can't stand that. Whenever I see a child giving their parent a hard time, I always feel like I wish there was something I could do to help the parent because it is such a bad feeling to have to deal with a child who is being fussy- then to add a rude adult like that makes matters even worse.

I totally understand. I am sorry this happened to you. As a matter of fact when I see a kiddie giving their parent a hard time, I usually try not to look because I don't want to make that parent feel worse than they already do. It happens and it's a phase that they will outgrow.

Thanks girls - you made me feel better. I just needed to get that out, it was making me mad just thinking about it. I know I'm not alone and a lot of mommys get the same reaction.
Its just I have always been sympathetic to the mommys even before I was one.


I try to do the best I can......they can be pretty overwhelming at times.
I was more mad at her at that point than my sons screaming.

I am sorry. I posted something similiar earlier in the week because DS was screaming in a store too and people made me so uncomfortable.

I really don't understand how other mom's can't be more understanding when they see children like that.

I'm sorry she was so rude to you and your son! I would say she probably doesn't have kids herself!

That it totally rude. We have all been there at one point. Does she have kids, that you know of? Reason I ask, it seems that other mommies are more understanding when it comes to that sort of thing, I know I am. What she did was totally uncalled for.
