I almost fainted in the subway this morning!
Now I'm freaked out. I started feeling really hot and dizzy while I was standing on the subway and then when I got off and started walking up the stairs, I started blacking out a bit...so I sat on the ground in the middle of the station. Has this happened to anyone before? Do I need to call my doctor? I'm 13 1/2 weeks pregnant.

Re: I almost fainted in the subway this morning!
I take the train all the time and this has happened to me--I dont think its anything to seriously be concerned about. I read that shortness of breath occurs a lot during pregnancy and you were probably overwhelmed.
Now I just try to take it easy and not run through the trains like I used to

That happens to me sometimes. I find what relieves it for me is if I eat something very quickly. With me, it seemed like something with blood sugar, if I eat something, I feel better. Maybe you can carry a granola bar in your bag. Hope you feel better!

it happened to me once, maybe a month ago... freaked me out... I figured it was because I ran a little bit to catch the train... now I dont give a you know what, I walk... if it doesnt happen too often, it is probably ok...

I'm not preggo, but this happens to me on occassion when my blood sugar drops. Eating something high in sugar - chocolate, juice, etc - helps immediately!

Re: I almost fainted in the subway this morning!
Thanks ladies! The dr. called me back and said it was normal but if it happens again to let them know. I guess I'll start carrying some candy or snacks with me from now on! I was so embarrased sitting on the ground in the middle of the subway station, but at least people came by to help!

Re: I almost fainted in the subway this morning!
This happened to me this weekend while shopping. I was so nervous. I started to feel really faint then really really dizzy and started getting major hotflashes. It lasted like all of 15 minutes. I went and sat down for abit and i was ok. I think its just part of being pregnant. The body is not the same anymore. It did make me nervous though b/c its the first time that happened.

This happens to me, but it's not low blood sugar, it's something called "reactive" hypoglycemia. It happens a little while after I eat. I had it with my first and it's very uncomfortable. It's worse in the morning than any other time and seems to be worse if I eat carbs/sugar.
