I always wondered if this ever happened
Woman rejects ballpark marriage proposal
You know things are wrong in Astro-land when even a wedding proposal can't go off smoothly. During Monday night's 7-0 loss to the Nationals at Minute Maid Park, a fan failed in his public attempt at asking his girlfriend to marry him, the Houston Chronicle reported on its Web site.
With the couple on display on the stadium's jumbotron, the male fan got down on one knee to present the ring. The woman, wearing a replica Astros jersey, appeared to dump a bag of popcorn on the man before hastily making her way up the stairs amid a chorus of boos, the newspaper reported.
The man left after the top of the sixth inning, cheered and consoled by an apparently sympathetic crowd.
"If it was an act, she put on a good one," Astros manager Phil Garner was quoted as saying after the game. "She looked totally surprised and then totally mad. We couldn't even get a proposal right down here tonight.
"We lead the league in marriage proposals, and we couldn't get that one right tonight."

Do you know that Shea doesn't even accept marraige proposal announcements for their jumbotron?

I didn't know that, I wonder why? Isn't it a good money maker?

This is what the site says: The first 25 message requests received for each game will be displayed, subject to approval. The Mets will not approve messages that are commercial in nature, or that contain inappropriate language or nicknames.
The following is a list of scoreboard announcement guidelines: Only Birthdays and Anniversaries are accepted We only accept the first 25 requests We do not allow nicknames All messages are subject to editing for space or content We do not confirm scoreboard requests There is no cost for scoreboard requests ****Marriage proposals are not permitted Welcomes are only available for groups of 25 or larger when the tickets are purchased through the Group Sales Office.
Requests are free so it's definitely not because of money. I wonder if it has something to do with lawsuits or something? Who knows?

Re: I always wondered if this ever happened
Interesting.
I suppose it doesn't matter to me anyway as I'm already married which means I've already gotten engaged.

Aww I feel so bad for that guy.
I always wanted DH to propose at an Islander Game, however, he settled for my parents dining room over dinner. I didn't mind that either.
