I am completely overwhelmed....

as you all know, I'm having a REALLY tough time dealing with the sleep deprivation with DS. I had the same thoughts and feelings with Aly when she was a newborn.

I'm off my meds because of insurance...we don't have ANY means to pay for it out of pocket so I'm waiting till Sept 1. I think it's more sleep deprivation though.

DH is away till Fri afternoon and was gone M-F last week too

I don't have anyone close enough to call a friend....I have acquaintances, but no one I feel close to or that I can confide in.

I cried for 45 on the phone to DH last night and finally found a moment to call my best friend, who is not home right now.

I just want to curl up in a ball, crying, and DIE. I hate feeling like this....I have no motivation to even leave the house. I'm lucky the kids are dressed....I'm not.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

PLEASE....G-d, make it better SOON

Can you call your doctors office and explain things to them and see if they can get you some meds for the meantime and bill you later for them?

I'm so sorry Shana. I found it really hard having the 2 so close in age at first, but it really does get easier. I wish you were up this way so I could help.

Re: I am completely overwhelmed....

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I'm very sorry, I hope it gets better soon!

One thing though, you said you have acquaintances, if any of them have children they may understand more than you know. I'm sure if you just called one of them up, you could even test the waters by saying you're sick of being home, could they come over for a few hours.

BTW it's great that you can admit you're having a tough time, it takes a lot to even say it outloud (or type it in this case). Hopefully you can find a way to get help soon, either from someone or with medicine.

Re: I am completely overwhelmed....

I'm so sorry you are having such a hard time. I agree that you should call your ob/gyn and ask for a prescription and explain the situation and they probably have samples or a means to get you what you need.

Also, are there any churches around with a Moms Day OUt program? You can drop the kids off for a few hours to come home and shower, rest and just recharge.

Hugs to you!

Also, on rough days like you are having I would put both kids in the car and just drive. It was the only place that I could go where they would be strapped in and I could just worry about driving. I'd go to McDonalds or Starbucks and get a drink and then just drive.

I agree about speaking to your OB. Also I know that there are free PPD groups that are held in church's etc. I am sure your OB can direct you to some.

I know that generic brands of meds are much cheaper - is there anyway a family member can lend you the money for now?

Re: I am completely overwhelmed....

are there any new moms groups you can join to meet and be with some other people - or maybe they know someone who can help you out.

Can I ask how much the meds run out of pocket? I also agree your dr should help you out.

it was $55 for a 30 day supply....only $5 with insurance. I can't ask grandma because she's been helping with everything else.

Second, I know my doctor's office has samples of certain meds. Im on lexapro and he gave me at least two weeks of meds to try.

Maybe your doctor can give you a month's worth. Its worth a shot.

I really think you need to call your OB and ask him for samples because feeling that way is not normal, even taking the lack of sleep into account.

First off....Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon . Call your doctor, he/she may be able to give you enough sample meds. to get you started until September and you have insurance. I'm sorry you are feeling so bad, it will get better. I know it is hard, but try to talk positively to yourself...even when you aren't feeling it. You can do it, it will get better, you are strong.Chat Icon Chat Icon
