I am crazy.. but I am soooooooooo excited and pumped for...
Halloween!!!
For the first time EVER I'll have my very own house! AJ will be 2 and I will finally have a place to walk her around
I get to decorate my porch
I get to give out candy. Every year we'd buy some but my apt in Queens no one would knock until late, in Hempstead we were the only residential so no one would knock and in Huntingon our door was actually in the 'backyard' with no light so I don't blame parents for not letting their kids come over and in my apt complex here I practically mugged a kid to give him all my candy!!! 
I know its sillly... crazy.... but this is going to be so much fun! I can't WAIT!
I'm already thinking in my head out to hang up some fake spiders, cover my hedges with that annoying mess cotton 'web' put up some pictures on the window that faces the porch...
New home owner EXCITEMENT!

I am excited too. Our neighborhood has no joke about 100 kids that come around. being that is a Sun, they will be coming all day long. i decorate my windows, porch and just got some nice decorations for my flower bed.

Not to kill your excitement, but also be prepared for the teenagers that come around late in the day and watch whatever decorations you put out.
Our house got egged one year, another year, they took my carved pumpkin and smashed it on the road in front of the house, another year, they shave creamed all the cars in the street and the street itself.

I have a quarter of the basement filled with decorations for it. I am absolutely in love with the holiday and would decorate tomorrow if it was acceptable.

I am so excited! It is also our first halloween in our house, and I've already been thinking about what to do. I really want to go crazy with the decorations. I can't wait!

I was the same way when we moved into our house!! I was SO psyched for halloween. We bought a TON of candy and even the little boxes of Sunmaid raisins for the little, little people.
I loved decorating for the fall - even more than Christmas!!!
You're going to have so much fun!!! Make sure you're in costume when you answer the door!!

LOL - you sound just like my DH!
He actually DRESSES UP to give out the candy and will try to scare some of the older kids (that we know in our neighborhood)...
Have fun!!!!!!!
Oh, and my supermarket actually already had Halloween Candy displays out last weekend......

I won't go crazy but small at first, and get the 'feel' of the hood.
From what i've gathered they are pretty low key which is kinda scary. And sorta Stepford Wife kinda viligant. NO ONE, NO BODY EVER EVER EVER has litter on the ground... EVER 
After we moved in we put our trash out and a paint mixing stick fell out. I meant to pick it up later - like an hour. I saw it but was leaving to run an errand. It was a weekend afterall. By the time I got home 1hr later it was picked up and the area swept. Um, ok kinda cool.
We have a very long curvvy road that enters into our subdivison with no homes. Its does have the elementary school on one side and a catholic church on the other, but they are wide properties of land. And beyond them before you hit the main road it is all just greenbelt, wild. Nothing there. So its sorta secluded if that makes sense.
Once on a Saturday I drove home and saw an empty bud light cardboard box sitting in the middle of the road. I swerved to avoid it. it was late at night like 9pm.... Well I had to go back to the store for something we forgot and by 10pm it was mysteriously gone. Not pushed aside or on the sidewalk. I mean GONE
Same for some large rocks that kids must have knocked loose (TX = Limestone rocky terrain). Again, within 30mins they were mysteriously picked up and gone.
I've never seen trash anywhere on anyone's lawn, ever. Been here 3mo and beginning to feel like its some sorta unspoken law that the areas are ALWAYS to be kept clear and clean at all times.
No toys, no bikes, no chalk on sidewalks, no lawn chairs, No car washing on the drive way, nothing. No one has ever forgotten to bring in their trash can on Monday night or their blue recycle can by Thursday night. The only exception was my home when the old owner left she left her can out, so the 'hood' put it away.
Kinda freaky 
So while I'm excited about halloween and yes I know there's gonna be teenage mayhem, I think it will be controllable and I won't lose much sleep over it.

i dont even really like halloween and im SOOOO excited.
it will be our first holiday in our new house so im soo excited to decorate!!
i was in Pier One yesterday and i was SOOOO tempted to buy halloween stuff.
i think im just going to buy a few things this year and then get a bunch of decorations after halloween when its all on clearance.

I love decorating for fall! I don't put my halloween decorations up until October 1st though. I have to say though, Halloween was a Saturday last year and we hardly had any trick or treaters. I bought so much candy thinking we'd get a lot since it was a weekend. I know better for this year!

Honestly, I 'm a little jealous! When I moved to a co-op with a priveate entrance I thought I'd get kids & I never do. Last year even on Saturday& knowing a few kids, I didn't get anyone.
I still like having a front patio to decorate though.
My firends live in a neighborhood with tons of kids & they dress up to answer the door & it is INSANE! We wne there one year, since my area is so dull.

I'm the same way! I got married on Halloween last year - that's how much I love Halloween! I have soooooooo many decorations - I'm thinking they're coming out after Labor Day. I'm crazy!
