I am having a hard time with a gift for my cousin! Need Help!
my 17 year old cousin is leaving for Pace this weekend
I want to get her a little something
I am kind of stuck- which is odd for me
She doesn't need money-
what would you get her- under $40
I was thinking a picture frame????

Dorms are just so crowded I'd probably stay away from decorative stuff... What about an iTunes gift card?? You can even send it by email...

I went to Pace in Pleasantville!!! Is she going there?
I received a gift when I went away with a garbage pail filled with little things like stamps, quarters (for laundry), and other things to make it easier for me since I didn't have a car up there.
I think so....she is living there and in the nursing program
I like that Idea too....you girls are good!

This is so random but the best thing my sister received (from mom - she stocked her dorm room) - was a memory foam mattress topper for her dorm bed.

If she IS in Dow, the mansion...it is thought to be haunted. And honestly, I was on the 3rd floor, and I did hear footsteps on my ceiling, called security, and no one was on the 4th floor attic-they checked.
LOVED that dorm!

I had doors slam, the lock to the bathroom unlock itself, the fan turn on by itself, heard chairs being moved upstairs across my ceiling. It was freaky, but so cool!

What about laundry detergent, a roll of quarters and a laundry bag? Sounds silly----but she'll need all of those things and will appreciate them about a week after she moves in.

re laundry and quarters -- first check to make sure they have coin-operated machines. Many dorms have replaced those with a card-operated system.

I would get her a gift card, to Sephora or even a practical place like BBB because once she gets to her dorm room she will remember so much stuff he forgot, no matter how well she thought she packed.

wow, lots of great ideas here !
I agree with the USEFUL stuff and not so much the decorative or "Extras" (makeup, clothes,etc).
make a big basket of things mentioned here, maybe include a journal to add a sappy piece.
