I am MISERABLE at my job!

I work for a large wholesale insurance company. I do really enjoy what I do. But, the manager is TERRIBLE.l When we were bought out last august, the new company made her the manager. She is so on her high horse its not even laughable. Yesterday she started talking $hit about one girl who was out for the day, and then today the girl was back in (we are fiends outside of work)_ and she confronted me on all teh boss said to her. Lied to her up and down about what we "said" and then told her she was trying to "bait" us to see what we would say about her...
Now this is not a high school--this "boss" is 45 years old-no need to play these games. I don't even know what to do. I feel like I cannot confidentally go to her boss because I feel like they will tell her waht I said.

I am so aggravated, and also hurt.

Where do I go from here? I need to work, but not under these conditions!!!!!

Have you tried contacting human resources about her?

start documenting everything. Go to HR.

if that's not an option you may need to go to her manager with documentation.

Do it in a professional way, not high school tattling and if they are a reputable firm and value you, they should take this seriously.

After two companies merge there is bound to be growing pains. Maybe promoting her was a stop gap to a better solution.
