Re: I am nauseated by myself

I would definitely forget what happened in the two weeks and start fresh. It sucks...I know I've beat myself up many times.

20lbs in 3 mths is achievable, but I would recommend 12-15...figure a lb a week to be safe (and healthy).

Boy Kristen...if you alter your yummy recipes for WW...Chat Icon Chat Icon We'd ALL be in heaven!Chat Icon

Re: I am nauseated by myself

It is, but it is not the most healthy way. It also depends on what percentage of your current body weight 20 lbs is. (rhetorical statement, please do not think I am looking for a number here Chat Icon ) Have you tried to set an exercise routine? Would you consider jump starting with a strict organic detox diet?

Re: I am nauseated by myself

they say "healthfully" you can lose 1-2 pounds per week. 3 months is approx. 12 weeks x 2= 24.

I don't know how realistic losing 2 pounds a week is for you, but I am sure losing even 10 or 15 in three months would be awesome.

Please don't hate yourself b/c of a few extra pounds. It takes energy away from so many other things that are undoubtably great about you.

I say this to you today as I sit here with the worst body image imaginable right now...so maybe I am really saying it for both of us...

you can do it. Chat Icon Chat Icon

WORD!!!!! I bet it would be a lot easier to stick to a diet if everything was as yummy as what you make. Chat Icon

I think 20lbs is totally doable- I did it before I got married and kept most of it off.

I do it online too!!

And I definitely think you can do 20 pounds in 3 months. Remember, you loose more than 2 pounds in the first few weeks anyway ('water weight") and then up to two pounds a week - you can totally do it!

ETA: I'd like to see some of your recipes myself!!!

OK, I would start by walking. Park your car further from the store entrances when you shop. Take the stairs as much as possible, and try to take a walk around the block w/ DH every night after dinner.

Stop buying snacks, even if they are WW, b/c then you will still crave sweets - replace w/ fruits & nuts (assuming you are not allergic).

That should get you off to a good start. Once your body becomes comfortable with the aerobic activity, then it might be easier for you to take that leap into doing the pilates (which works like crazy BTW, and you can do it at any skill level).

Chat Icon You can do it.

Re: I am nauseated by myself

Good for you Kristen! You can do it. I have some really good WW recipes at home if you would like me to email them to you.

You are a beautiful person inside and out. I know you're not happy with your weight, but don't hold it against yourself. It will only make it harder for you. The best thing you can do right now is write down everything you eat. That really kept me in check when I first started WW. Measure out your food and you'll see a big difference.

Also, exercise is so important, even if you walk for a little. While DH is out tonight, try the DVD. If you need support, just FM me! Chat Icon

Don't be so hard on your self. You can do this. Don't look at the 20lb you want to lose, but break it down to 2 or 3 lb goals. That way you wont' overwhelm yourself.

Re: I am nauseated by myself

You know what it is, I actually gained like 20 lbs. I do not LOOK heavy, but I am definately thick around the a$$ area. Flat tummy, but big thighs. I want my old shape back.

This is my life. One time at the doctor's office while getting weighed, the nurse said to me "I didn't think you were THAT heavy"

Nice right . . .

The fact that I don't LOOK like what I weigh, has kept my motivation down. I'm trying harder to concentrate on the overall health factor.

Re: I am nauseated by myself

Good Luck Kristen!

I have to say that sometimes setting small short term goals help you stay on track better than saying I want to lose x pounds in x months. Maybe start small with losing 5 pounds in 3 weeks or a month. Take everything one day at a time- exercise, counting points etc. Sometimes the thought of doing something for a long time seems like it will take an eternity and makes you want to give up. If you take it day by day, it seems less overwhelming.

Definitely join us on Azoodie's holiday challenge thread - we all post our daily menus there. Also, I started a venting thread which really helps you to let go of stress that is tied to trying to lose weight and (hopefully) will help to avoid stress eating.

Re: I am nauseated by myself

I guess I'm kind of unusual, but if I don't work out every few days my muscles tense up and I feel terrible. We have Comcast cable and sometimes I will do the quick ab workouts or the quick leg workouts (15 min) and I feel so much better. Start trying to just incorporate short workouts into your routine. I did 20 min workouts every other day before my wedding and lost 10 lbs. You don't need to workout for a long time, but rather consistently work out every other day or so.

Re: I am nauseated by myself

you don't have to go crazy working out to lose weight...20-30 minutes 3 times a week is sufficient...try to eat more whole grains and of course cut out sweets...and drink lots of water...
I'm a chocolate nut thought I would never diet or give up my sweets but I did this two months before my wedding lost 15lbs and toned up nicely...of course I got lazy and packed some weight back on but after AF this month I'm restarting my diet...I'm only 5 foot and I can't afford to be overweight..every 5lbs looks like 10 on me!
Good Luck! Chat Icon
