I am no longer Mommy!
Yeah...just like that in the past few days I am officially "Mom" 
Mom this, mom that...and when I told her I like mommy better she said "Aw MOM, you are so cute"
Why do I feel like this is such a big deal?

OMG - my DD just started doing this and it annoys the crap out of me but it helps that she has changed Daddy to Dad too!

awwww. So bittersweet.
Considering I remember a lot of kids using Mommy almost til they were in jr. high, I think this sounds very young for a change.
Maybe just a phase and she will go back to Mommy. I can almost guarantee the next time she is really upset she will fall back into it.

Aww, Emily does that too lately.
And if we are together she calls us "guys!"
She still slips Mommy in from time to time though, so I try to get it wherever I can.

i know what you mean - julia is starting to call me "MOM" too -- i also love when she calls me mommy -or used to call me mommy - i think it makes me feel like im getting old!! lol

I can't even remember the day when he called me Mom first, but now that I think of it, I miss the mommy.

Roman has been doing this for a few months. We are no longer "Mommy & Daddy" we are "Mom & Dad" I was assured it will change again and I'll go back to being Mommy I know what you mean though

Well- it could be worse... RJ likes to call me "Riss" since thats what he hears everyone around me calling me...
He is always corrected "No Im mommy"
So now Im "Mommy Riss"

nope, just MOM all the time. It was so sudden, no warning...
and she calls DH Dad too, which helps
When did all of our monkeys get SO big...
I hope she goes back to mommy soon.

You know what? I feel the SAME way when Ava calls me Mom. I hate it! But, for now, I think I'm safe because she thinks my mom's name is Mom

awwwww I can totally relate. I remember the first day she called me Mom, I was sad. I told her to please call me Mommy. She sometimes calls me "Ma", I was . She will say "but Ma...". I feel like she's 2.5 going on 16 sometimes.

My son called me mom for a while, but now calss me Mommy again. It could be just a phase. I wouldn't mention it, because, at least with my kid, he is more likely to do it.
