I am physically ill over all of this work stuff

I was up till midnight sending out resumes. I didnt sleep all night and this morning I feel so ill. I feel like I am going to vomit. I've had the drive heaves and I just dont have the desire to go to work. I am so upset and angry at how they are treating me. I shouldnt let it get to me like this, they are scum but it's so hurting to be told "this change has to happen" and the only justification they have is this other person has a piece of paper that says she studied accounting and I dont. A piece of paper that was not an issue 3.5 months ago

I feel like just walking in taking whats left at my desk (I cleaned it out last night), leaving and not returning.

How can companies treat people like this? I am a human being. I have feelings. I cry when hurt. I bleed when cut. I care. How can companies just turn around and say well this is the decision and you have no options. I just dont understand

I am sorry you are feeling this way. I read your last post and it's terrible what they are doing. I have worked for a company like that, and I can tell you, it will never end. Even if they make a compromise with you on your position, there will only be a next time they try to do something else that is shady. Maybe take this as a sign to move on to something better!

I am so sorry you are going through this. Try your best not to take it personal. It seems like you aren't getting a straight story here and this probably has nothing to do directly with you or your work ethic. This sounds like something is going on at a higher level.

I know it is hard, but try not to get sick over it....they/the company are not worth it! At the end of the day unfortunately many companies are primarily concerned with the bottom line and not how their actions effect the people.

I am sure there is a better job and work environment out there for you and this is just one blip on the radar that you will thank them for doing in the end because it led you on a better path!

One of my co-workers thought I quit last night b/c she came in and saw nothing on my desk.

My boss didnt even say two words to me this morning. He walked right past me as if I wasnt even in.

My coworker said to me not to shoot myself in the foot, but I just cant be here. I just cant be in a company that is this shady.

So I am just taking it one day at a time right now. My desk is completely cleaned out though. I am going to call the labor board and an attorney to find out what my rights are if I voluntarily resign due to my terms of hire were changed.

I will keep you all posted.

I am so sorry you are going through this! It seems so wrong & I hope there is some recourse you can take since they hired you for the job without the degree.

Just wanted to give a quick update of my rights.

FL S U C K S!!!

FL is an at will state. They can fire and hire at will. I have no recourse against them if they force me to take a position I dont want.

Also just because they changed the terms of what I was hired under means nothing. They are "offering" a position within the company.

So basically they have to fire me to be eligable for unemployment benefits. However I could still file a claim if I voluntarily resign but it would be a case by case issue and my chances would be slim. Especially since they "offered" the other position.

This at will crap S U C K S!!!

DH supports whatever decision I make and whatever makes me happy. He siad to treat this like a temp job and when something better comes along take it. I just hate being here. Getting the newspaper on lunch and more resumes going out

Talk to your boss and maybe you can work out something so that you can collect unemployment if you want!!

Unfortuntely, no deal. It's just not an option. They have done it to others - forcing them to resign so they dont have to pay unemployment benefits.

I know it will be a big fat no deal.

So I just play it by ear and however the cards fall they fall.

But the good thing is I learned a new skill (quickbooks) and they cant take that from me
