I am ready to walk the plank
DS is on day 10 with a fever and is going back to the ped for the third time in a week and they are going to charge me the $25 copay again for them to tell me the same thing. I don't understand how it could just be viral and no one around him has gotten it and he has coughed and drooled on all of us!!!

Re: I am ready to walk the plank
I hate to say it but maybe go to the ER or demand that the Ped take blood. The same thing happened to my boss. They told her that the fever was caused by a Fever Virus (I am still not clear on what that is exactly). She went back and it turned out her DD had a bladder infection, which they missed for 2 previous visits.
I hope your LO feels better soon.

I agree. I was told a fever normally doesn't last more than 10 days. I'm glad they're seeing asking you in again. Go for the blood draw. It's heartbreaking but worth it..

Re: I am ready to walk the plank
I would visit a different ped... that's way too long to be with a fever.... and I agree with you, someone else should have caught it by now if it were viral. like what the OP said, it could be an infection they didn't identify....
