I am ready too give up
I have gone to a nutrisionist
Had a personal trainer
Done WW
Starved myself
Work out 5 days a week
And I can't lose a f'in pound.
I need to lose 20 lbs and the scale just wont budge.
Please give me your suggestions or any ideas on how to jump start the weight loss.
Even if I saw a 2 lb drop atleast that would motivate me to keep going.
Sorry for being Debbie Downer, but my next step might be to start puking j/k but so discouraged

That was me - have you had a full-blood work up, checked insulin levels, thyroid? I found out years ago that I had PCOS and was insulin - resistant - didn't make in any easier to lose weight, but I did find out that carbs were the enemy (for me) and although WW had been successful in the past, that it wasn't any longer. Things like Atkins or South Beach worked much better for me then.

I did have all the blood work done.
The one thing I can think of is that I have sleep apnea and that kinda slows your whole body down, but come on, not even a pound

This might sound ridiculous but take a look at your sodium intake. You might be retaining water. Once I really sat down and analized it...I realized I was taking in double what I should (which is not hard to do if you like canned soups in winter)...and then my plateu finally budged....just a thought.

Do your clothes fit different? How do you feel? If the scale is your only way of measuring success you will be disapointed. **DONT QUIT BEING HEALTHY** Are your workouts low impact? Maybe you need to push your butt a lil more to get it buring.. **Dont give up**

Re: I am ready too give up
Do you keep a food diary?? What are you eating???
My scale doesn't budge either - I run 5-6 day a week = some strength training in between and I haven't lost a pound in over a year. BUT - I haven't gained anything either.
I also know that I am a grazer - I eat all day long, even though its not overly fattening stuff - for the most part i eat pretty healthy.
Weekends I tend to go a little nuts and over indulge. This is where my problem is.
You really have to look at what your eating thru the course of a day. I realized that I sabatoged myself, I know I should be eating less.
It could also be that you aren't eating enough and your body is holding onto whatever you consume - like its in starvation mode.

agreed don't trust the scale..judge it by how your clothing fits and how you feel physically. Don't give up...sometimes weight takes a couple of months to drop..healthy wise..you should only be losing about 2 pounds a week...so its not a quick reward..

Re: I am ready too give up
This sounds like me, but I go through weight-loss phases - it's the only way I can describe it.
All of a sudden, without doing anything different, I'll start dropping a lot of weight, and then plateau again. It's very weird.
also - I'll be honest - I had a personal trainer and did WW years ago when I was very heavy - it did nothing for me. Turns out I had adrenal burnout which was the reason I had the extra weight to begin with... Adrenal burnout is more common than you would think!!!
ETA - do you NEED to lose 20 lbs, or WANT to lose 20 lbs? You can want to lose, but if you are at a healthy weight, your body may know what it's doing by not losing it, kwim?

Thank you, I would consider myself slightly overweight. I am 5'6 and weigh 165. I have always been a size 2 (about 130) but I quit smoking a few years ago and have never been the same
