I am slow grower this month... Update 6/8/08
I went in today (Cd11) for my sono and bloodwork. I used 50 mg of Clomid and I am waiting for my surge for my IUI.
But, I only had two dominant follies. One was 15.5 and one was 11.
She said the 11 could catch up but, for now the 15 was the dominant one. And my lining is only at 5... SO I have a ways to go. She said that sometimes Clomid can make your cycle longer or shorter. Last month it gave me a beautiful 28 day cycle.... But this month... will be longer.
I am getting anxious. I just want to get on with it!!
Update: I went back to the RE today and my Follie is 23. That is good. The second one didn't catch up. I didn't POAS this morning so I am waiting for the blood test results to see if I am surging. Then we do IUI #5 And the lining went up past 7.. so I am good for that.
I know that Clomid can give you more mature follies.. which it certinely is doing.. But, I thought it would give me More follies also! Second month and I still only get one lead follicle! Oh well. I guess it only takes one.. problem is.. One hasn't been working for the past year a half!

Re: I am slow grower this month...
I have never had more than 2 mature follies and I got him from it
<---------------------------------------------
So it only takes one !!!! And as for your lining- they can always prescribe estradiol- Mine went from a 5 to a 10 overnight on an IUI cycle

Re: I am slow grower this month...
I always ovulated on CD20 or 21 when on Clomid. Don't worry, you just want a mature follicle - how long it takes to get it is unimportant!

Where are you going? Clomid usually only gives you one follicle....supposedly it's better quality, though. My bigger concern is that you aren't being checked for other issues. Have you had an HSG or talked about injectables. I didn't realize you were IUI #5...at this point your RE should be investigating further to see if there are any other issues.
Good luck!!

I agree with Gerty.
The only time I ever produced more than one follie was my last IUI in December. I did two rounds of Clomid within that cycle (a total of 250mgs!), I produced 3 follies. But all previous months it was only 1 follie.

_______________________________ Yes, I have had other tests. THe HSG was last month. All clear. I did 3 natural cycles and this is my second clomid cycle. I only did 25mg last month. I am VERY nervous about the drugs so the doctor is taking it slow (also due to my crazy family history of multiples). We will probably skip injectables since my risk for multiples is more than the average bear and go right to IVF. My insurance covers this. So we are doing this month with clomid and then next month and then thinking about IVF.
He has been investigating it and said that at this point we have some male factors but are mostly unexplained IF. My FSH has been below 10 for the past two months. THis was something he was monitoring but, it doesn't seem to be an issue. One month it was 12. But just one month.
I have no idea.. He said that DH's sperm have better motility than we started but, maybe they are swimming in all sorts of directions. He said my tubes might not be grabbing the egg properly. So that is why we are doing this month and the next with Clomid and then moving on to IVF.
Also, the doctor doesn't seem to be concerned with the number of follies I am producing.. meaning one.. albeit a larger one that without clomid. I am the one that is driving myself crazy. I hear so many clomid people say they have 3 follies on just 50mg.. I thought that was what was supposed to happen. But the doctor's office seems quite pleased with my one big one. I am just thinking.. one follie hasn't worked before.. and I am getting frustrated. (well one follie did work before when I had m/c.. but that is a different story)
Thanks girls.. I guess I just need to be patient.

Re: I am slow grower this month... Update 6/8/08
I had the same situation this month. I went ahead with the IUI and I am waiting it out now. I agree, I was hoping upping my clomid (100 mg) would have given more follies, but it didnt. Like you, one was really big though. I even had the lining problem!
Hope it works out for you! Good Luck!!!
