I am so grossed out

I went to pick up some dog food from petco and I didn't think I needed a cart so I carried this bag of food around the store for awhile. Then I get home take almost everything out of the car and see a worm on the floor of the backseat. It was near the petco bag so I thought I'd check the bag of dog food out because I couldn't imagine where it came from. Then I saw 2 worms forming cocoons (sp?) on the bag and one that was dead and stuck to the bag. I am beyond disgusted and will probably shower and then return the bag to petco. So gross.

I know people who have found them IN the closed dog food bags. I always remember that and check the bags every time I feed them.

I'd absolutely bring it back. I might go somewhere else for the food too.

I remember hearing to check the dog food bag because of instances like these. It's been so long since I've bought dog food from a store. This is for a new puppy we're picking up today and my other dog is on a prescription dog food from the vet because she has a bad stomach.

I went to return the dog food yesterday and they were very nice and very apologetic. The manager walked me over to a register and whispered to the worker that there were maggots on the food bag. She didn't even seem surprised! I think I'll be sticking with Pet Smart from now on. Based on the cashier's reaction I don't think this is the first time they've had someone return dog food bags with free maggots attached to it.
