I AM SO PROUD FO MYSELF!!

I MADE THROUGH MY MRI!!

i have been having problems with headaches/pressure and double/blurred vision
they sent for an mri last week, well to my suprise they scheduled me for a clsed instead of a open one. well i had a panic attack almost rightin this damn coffin!!! it was horrible, #1 i didnt expect it i assumed it was open so i really didnt look at the machine, i just walked in layed down then all of a sudden i feel myself being pushed into this tube with ym hea din theu contracption!! well only after 2 minutes o freaked and had a panic attack.

well i rechduled for a open one, now iwas more nervous becuase i knew what was going to happen. My hubby came with me, i brought my enya cd, they put a blind fold on me so i couldnt see that my head was still in the contraption but at least my arms and legs were free not touching that horrible coffin!!!

well i started to freak out alittle at first, but the technician calmed me down let me take a few deep breaths, and my hubby held my hand tightly and rubbed my legs, eventually i calmed down and the technician did it 10 minute intervals- oh yes girls it's 45minutes long!!!! it *****!!! but i got through it~~ my hubby was great i thought he could hear the music too but he didnt!! he just basically heard the baging of the loud machine and stared at his wife blindfolded in the huge machine for 45 minutes!! what a trooper, but ui couldnt of done it without him. but thank god it over!!!

we find the reults in 48 hours, i'm pretty sure i'm fine , it think it was my ears/vertigo or my vision, i am habvving problems keeping my eyes focused but the eye doctor couldnt say that, that was definitly cuasing the pain & pressure and vision distrubances!!

well thanks girls i'm giong to take a zanax now and relax, maybe go our to dinner too!!

You should be proud of yourself! I also nearly had a panick attack the first time I had an MRI( the closed one) to diagnose my migraines. It STINKS , I normally have NO problems with claustraphobia (sp?) but in that case, it was just horrible and I could not deal with it

I have subsequently always gone to the open MRI, they are not 100% great either but they are sooo much better than the closed ones... from now on, ONLY open MRIs for me!

Way to go, so happy you got thru it! And your DH is a sweetie to be with you every step of the way

Hope you are feeling better soon!(I recently had a bad bout of vertigo/dizziness and it just wound up going away on its own.. no diagnoses or anyting wrong..hope that is the same for you )
