I am SO relieved!
My dad is getting discharged to rehab tomorrow or Tuesday (knock on wood).
And, tonight I had a talk with him - more like, THE talk. The, "I don't think you should buy or rent an apartment in the city, and live by yourself, I think you should live in an independent living, senior community facility, and here are some brochures of the nicest places in Philly, you can afford it, tell me what you think" conversation.
I expected some serious resistance, and was soooooooooooo nervous to bring this up, but my father looked at me, smiled, and said, you're right Beth. He admitted he has been getting more and more nervous about the idea of buying or renting an apartment, living by himself, in a totally foreign city, and that he's been thinking of a senior community.
Baby steps...

Happy to hear he will be in rehab soon and that he realized what's best for his living situation. You're a good daughter

so glad he's getting out of the hospital. It's a major step.
Good that he's thinking along those lines.
