I AM SO SCARED TO GO TO SLEEP TONIGHT
my smoke alarm went off then stopped then went off 3 more times like this i reset them all after checking out everything but now i am terrified to go to sleep

I thought they do that when they are running low on batteries. (I know you said you checked them - but that is my only idea)

i read the manual and it was not beeps i heard it was a full alarm sound. as if there was something found in the air.... it said 3 small horn sounds followed by 45 seconds of silence and a green blinking light indicates alarm memory... meaning that something was detected in the air...... it is all quite now but i am still soooo scared  my biggest fear is a fire

Mine did that a couple of weeks ago too!! I was terrified. It happened three times. I think a bug must have been crawling around it or it was dusty. Once we opened it and shut it, it was fine.

My Carbon Monoxide detector did that once in the middle of the night.
Scared the be-jesus out of me.
With that I wasn't taking any chances! I had the fire department at my house at 3 am with a carbon monoxide detecting device...
Turns out there was nothing in the air and they just recommended I change the batteries.
What a way to let you know the batteries need changing! Scary!

My CO alarm did that so I called the fire dept to come check it out. If it is a slow night, they don't mind coming out to check things and give you piece of mind.
