I am sure this has been asked before...Sesame Place?
So, my DH & I would like to take Grace to a day trip / overnight trip once I am feeling better (in August or September). We are looking into Sesame Place or Dutch Wonderland. Grace LOVES anything sesame street especially Elmo. Plus, this will give me something positive to focus on. I think dutch wonderland will be too old for her, but I have no idea!
For those who have been to sesame place a few questions...
At what age did you take your DC?
If they were under 2, was it worth going?
Did you go for the day or stay overnight?
Would you recommend staying overnight?
When is the best time of year to go? September? or August?
If your child was REALLY into sesame street at age one and you took them at the age, did they love it?
I guess I am afraid that once we get there, she will get freaked out or that most of the rides and things to do will be too old for her, you know?
Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

I have not been to either so take this with a grain of salt but...
I have heard that of the two, Dutch Wonderland is by far the better one. I haven't honestly heard one good thing about Sesame Place yet. Dutch Wonderland is supposed to be fantastic.

Re: I am sure this has been asked before...Sesame Place?
Dina we took Aidan when he was 15 months, we also went with my niece who is a year older and got a little more out of it but we still had fun.
Aidan had a blast in the pools and sprinklers, was able to go on the lazy river with me, the Big Birds Balloon Race ride, and in the area with the nets and climbers there was a bouncy thing I think called Big Birds nest, he walked around in there for a while. Then of course the parade and shows.
So will Grace take advantage of everything? no but we were able to fill a day of fun anyway!
We stayed overnight a few miles away, but alot of people say you don't really need to.
I suggest NOT going the last week of August like we did. I was told that was the busiest week since everyone was trying to do something before school started again.
McDonalds had some coupons on their counter last week I picked some up if you want them!
Have fun!
ETA: we are going to Dutch Wonderland in a few weeks so I'll let you know how that is, but I hear its great because everything is for toddlers. I was there about 30 yrs ago so I don't remember...

I haven't been yet, which is a disgrace considering we live about 20-30 minutes away, but I wanted to say, whenever I drive from the philly burbs to Great Neck it takes usually about 2 hours, 15 minutes. Depending on how far out you are, I don't know if you really need to stay overnight.

We are going over the summer. I can't remember where we are staying but when I get home I can post it.
We are staying overnight 1 night. We figured it would be too much to do it in 1 day even though it is possible.

I also only live 30 minutes away so I really want to try it, but I' wasn't sure if it would be worth it. DS is 14 months old now. I don't think I would bring a toddler if they weren't walking yet though. DS just started to get good at walking so we'll probably try it. It's a shame to live so close and not take advantage!

At what age did you take your DC? We went last year - Michael was 20 months old
If they were under 2, was it worth going? I personally do not think it is worth it for someone who is under 1. I think 18 months is a good age to start doing things like this.
Did you go for the day or stay overnight? We went for the day. It was a Monday in August and it was a LONG day.
Would you recommend staying overnight? If we go again it will be for overnight
When is the best time of year to go? September? or August? I think September would be your best bet. August was really busy.
If your child was REALLY into sesame street at age one and you took them at the age, did they love it? At 20 Months old, my son was obsessed with Ernie!! LOVED him and pretty much loved all the characters. Unfortunately he didn't love them close up.
We are going to Dutch in August so I can't comment on that yet!

We want to go to Seasame June 15th if the weather is nice. I have to stop in Mickey D's and see if they have some coupons.
