i am throwing a shower....i need help with a book poem

for my shower They had people bring a book instead of a card - does anyone have the poem that goes into the card?

This is what mine said...everyone still got a card though lol

Although cards are nice,
they are only read once or twice.
A book is a treasure forever and ever.
Instead of a card that will be put to the side,
give Baby Michael a story with your name inside.
If everyone signs a book instead of a card,
filling a shelf should not be hard.
For years to come, Sylvia and Michael will read,
with all the love their child will need.
Baby Michael will be smart indeed.

That is why I'm hoping My Mom will read to me.
If you plan to bring a card, Please take another look,
I would like to learn my ABC's
