I bought a baby thing today...
First time I have ever done this! It is nothing big, just cute and something that DH likes (penguins). I don't know what came over me...now I feel like an arse!! DH thought it was sweet but I know what he's thinking...that I have gone off the deep end for sure this time!! Has anyone else bought something(s) for their imaginary baby or am I just one step closer to the looney bin?

Re: I bought a baby thing today...
(raises hand silently ) No, seriously though- I have. I actually posted on here once about this (a while ago) and I think ppl thought I was nuts. I buy things from time to time- they're not for a specific child.... they're bought with the intent of using for our children- but if that should never happen, then I've made a deal with myself that we'll either give them to our friends or donate them to the church or someplace else where they'll be used. I personally find nothing wrong with it!

I bought a printer sheet and a t-shirt to make DD a "Big Sister in Training" shirt. It's collecting dust
But actual baby stuff, no I haven't, I am glad I didn't cause I think it would depress the crap out of me!

I have definitely been tempted but I haven't. I don't think your nuts though - I have lately been checking out baby items on the internet, something I never let myself do before.

I think that's ok....it just means you have faith that one day you will have a child to give it to

Re: I bought a baby thing today...
You have to BELIEVE that it is going to happen. I think it is fine to buy baby stuff.
I bought three undershirts and three pairs of baby socks in 0-3m, 3-6m and 6-9m at Target about a year ago. I call my husband "Love Bug" and in the dollar area at Target they had these things that all had a cute little ladybug picture on them and said Love Bug. I couldn't resist.
I put them in a covered basket in the room that will someday be a nursery.

Thanks for making me feel less crazy. I told DH where I hid it, so if we ever need it he can dig it out!! If not it'll go with all the other X-mas gifts to church next year.

I've found myself doing this too. My Husband thinks Im out of my mind though....so now, I just hide it and dont tell him. Sometimes I see the cutest things at Kohls or Target at the right price and I cant leave it there
