I broke down today at the nursing home...
Of course I am so lucky that my Grandma is here and we can visit her but I cannot stand to see her like this in this place She looks so unhappy. Up until October she was very active. Went shopping, went out to play cards and went to church almost on a daily basis. Growing older just $cuks I started crying when I saw her in the lounge just laying there...no one was interacting with her, the people who work there were sitting on their a$$es doing nothing.
I took down a number for a patient hotline...my mother has not called to complain about this place yet...I think I will be doing this myself! I saw blood on a curtain in her room. This curtain sits right by her face and the blood looks fairly new! I HATE THIS PLACE

Sounds awful. You should talk to the recreation department and insist your grandma be bought to all programming and they provide stimulating activites for her

I'm so sorry Kathleen!!!!!!!!
I know how you feel, I hate to see my Grandpa in that same state. I was fortunate enough to have a very nice conversation with him the other night, it was nice to "have him back" even if it was for just a little while.

There is another place in Queens that she really wants to go to...My mom sent the paperwork in and we are waiting to hear. I do not know what we will do if we cannot get her in there...I really don't.
